Hi! Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Jewel. When you say "big cleaning" of the tank, what exactly do you do?

Are the scales sticking out making it look like a pinecone?
Oh and welcome to the forums! ^^

Scales sticking out like a pinecone sounds like a typical symptom of dropsy...
do some web searches for dropsy...

No the fish looks fine all around is only the stomach that is growing like a ballon.
When I clean the tank, I took most of the water out fill it again remove the chlorine with the kit.
The male looks fine and the cat fish also.
I will try to take a picture.
Thanks,

Here are two pictures. The picture are not very good since this type of fish is always hidding but, you can see the big stomach.

She could be constipated. Put her in a seperate hospital tank and don't feed her for a few days. What are you feeding them right now?
Or she is just really fat with eggs...dosn't seem like it but I'm not sure.

The female has been more than 3 months like that. I feed them once per day with Tetra Cichlid Sticks and some days with Color Bits from Tetra.
When I notice the first time I though that she was carring eggs but she start getting the stomach bigger and bigger until stops.

You might try feeding her some babyfood peas or frozen shelled peas.
If you go with the frozen you want to thaw them with hot water and squeeze them out of the membraine, break them up and drop them in the tank.
If she is just full of eggs you need to look at the tank's setup and see if you have given them proper spawning grounds.

Do you think she can be full of eggs for months?
