Title: New pickups over the weekend

pickup these up on Friday, three dog characins, also know as freshwater barracuda. These are slightly different to the one I already have, being Acestrorhynchus falcatus rather than Acestrorhynchus falcirostris. They should grow to around the same size, 12". Like the one I already have, they have proven difficult to get of off the live stuff so they are being fed exclusively on feeders.
Picked this guy up on Saturday, an African Pike Characin (Hepsetus odoe). Around 7"-8" at the moment and I am trying it in with the dorado. Keeping a close eye on things just incase the dorado turns nasty. No big issues so far. Scientific name is Hepsetus Odoe and as you have probably gathered it originates in Africa. In the wild they can reach 70 cm but in the home aquaria it is much smaller. It is carniverous so meaty stuff is on its menu.

No major issues between them so far so fingers crossed they stay that way.
