Guys, why is it every freaking time I go into a aquarium I see Fronts going for more and more and more, who is with me when I say they are over rated? Its not like there hard to breed or anything. And no, im not taking the piss out of the african lovers, im just saying this fish is far to expensive and over rated.

Well...the main reason C. frontosa have been so expensive is that in the wild, the fish live in deep water and have to be properly "decompressed" when they are being caught or their swim bladders expand to the point that they push out the fish's guts. Pierre Brichard was the first to develope a pressurised container to bring the fish up in so that they can be slowly acclimated to surface pressures...
I can understand why the F0 fish go for so much money...however I certainly agree with you that the juvie f1 and tank raised fish are going for WAY too much money...I'm not a huge fan of frontosa to start with (they just seem big and plain to me). There are plenty of breeding populations here in the States (I don't know what Oz is like) so I also don't understand why the price keeps going up....
The price of Frontosas over here in the UK is dropping steadily. I'm a big fan of them myself having kept them a couple of times. I wouldn't agree that they are "easy" to breed though. It depends if you consider having to keep them for around four years before they are mature enough to breed, easy. Once they reach the right age then it is not too difficult though. A breeding setup is a long term investment, as well as a spacious one, so I can see why they command a higher price than other africans.
