Title: Tiger Cruze, pearl harbor, ships, jets.
Description: Load warning.

I recently got the opportunity to go on a Tiger Cruze with my brother. He joined the navy 6 years ago. He has been on deployment for the past six months. His ship the USS MCCAMPBELL (a destroyer) travels with the worlds largest aircraft carrier the USS RONALD REGAN. Traveling in the pack are 2 destroyers, the big regan carrier, a fuel/supply ship, and a submarine that we never saw. Each year they do a Tiger Cruze. This is when the sailor can bring a friend or family member on a 4-7 day cruze aboard the ships. Basically to show the family or friend what they have been doing for the navy. The ship left from Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Headed tward San Diego. It's was a 7 day cruze. For someone like me, who is not inlisted it was a very humbeling experience. First time in hawaii, and I was only able to spend a few hours there. In those few hours I manage to get horrible food poisening from Bubba Gumps. This was nothing like I've ever had before. I felt as if I was dying. You'll see the pictures to prove it. So 2 iv bags, some other drug pumped into my iv, and 18 hours of sleep later I managed to pull out of it. Coulden't eat much for the next 3 days. Managed to loose 20 pounds though! Now well under way not much else. Sleeping in a bed the size of a coffin, showering with flip flops on, eating crappy cafeteria food, dvd's, and xbox. They did do a air show wich I will post pictures of and explain a little more. Also did a deck gun demonstration.

Here is the money maker shot! Not! Ladies and gentelmen me at my worst! Representing a fine lager though! Notice the sweat line on my shirt I've never sweat so bad that I drenched the whole upper half of my body. I'm never eating at Bubba Gumps again. Curse them.

Now for some shots of the air show. Now this was no ordinary air show. Because we were out to sea they got to drop bomps, and broke the sound barrier 30 yards away from the ship. Loudest thing I have ever heard. All you see are two smoke rings puff out of the after burner. Then a few seconds later KABOOM! Kind of knocks the air from your chest.

Mid air refueling fly by.

As for the deck fire power demo. I didn't manage to get shots. They have 1 5 inch cannon on the front. 2-50 cals, 2-M70, 2-M16 on both sides. Lets just say that if the big 5 inch doesen't stop them the rest will finish them. I'd hate to be anyone who tried to attack them. Not to mention all the missles they can fire off. If I remember right a total of 50, 25 on front and back. In case of missles they have deflectore. They truly thought of everything. No way any thing could near them without them knowing. Ok the Mocha late I had at 5 p.m. is finally wearing off. I don't drink near as much caffene as I use to. Note to self caffene after five = little sleep.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Sorry to hear you were sick for part of the trip. Not many people would get to see an air show like that! *jealous*

Thanks guys. Getting sick sucked. Luckly it only lasted till they pumped me full of drugs. I'm just glad it happened on the first day, and only lasted a few hours. Could have ruined my cruze. Glad I could share with everyone.
