My friend who I got started in fish keeping called me yesterday and told me she had like 40 some fish she would give me if I would come and get them. I gave her some striped convict fish about 4 years ago and her sister gave her some pink convicts right after and they mated and had babies out the butt. Well I drove for an 1 1/2 (not bad for free fish). Got there and her male and female are in a ten gallon with about 100 more babies and she had the ones she gave me in a 20 gallon tank. Got them out and started counting and it was more like 47 free fish to go with my 7 that I already have. They are striped and pink. So now I have a pretty full 55 gallon tank with 54 fish altogether. Plus she said if I wanted more when the others ones got bigger I could have them.

Hubby told me it wasnt worth driving that far to get free fish but considering it only costed me $15 for gas and the price on these fish at my local pet store ($2.79 a fish) I think it was well worth the trip. If I had bought them at the pet store it would have costed me around $130. So I made off pretty good. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I might be getting a free Pleco that is outgrowing a friends 20 gal, have to wait and see if it really happens. :laugh:
