Yep, a labyrinth fish only tank, but i am thinking of inhabitants..
*exception for bottom feeders* * female fish only*
here is what i was thinking for the tank.

3-5 Three spot-blue gouramis
4-6 paradise fish
Bettas and medium sized fry ( unedible by tankmates ) 5-10 full grown, and juvenile 5-???(alot)
2, maybe 3 dojo/weather loach

as you can see, i will have to be able to have extra space for the fry , hiding spots will be np. I am asking what your thoughts on my plans are

Here are more plans-sculpture, plant, and filter wise::::
Small medium rock-gravel-substrate
Lots of java moss
Tons of floating water sprite
An amazon sword
Tape grass
Bogwood
Rock garden sculptures
Smashed clay pot sculptures
assorted other small sculptures for dojo loaches
55 gallon filtration,

Planning on making certain areas for certain fish:::
A corner-nook spot for bettas to hide, gouramis cant get in, paradise can, but most likely won't
Another side of the tank, maybe a foot and a half long worth for paradise fish, gouramis can get in, bettas can too.
And the rest of the place is for gouramis, including a mid part for hiding if they are getting bullied.

Yes i know the fish probably wont stay in their places, but theres *spots* for them are just, places the might be able to hide in from whatever might be annoying them

Thoughts?

I forsee no troubles with any of the Gouramis, Loaches or Paradise fish. Im not 100% sure on the bettas though, and youll want to make absolutely sure youve got all females. I think 10 might be a bit much, but 5-6 would be ok. You might end up with juvies anyway, especially if you give them enough plants/cover.

:) Goodluck

Sounds like a plan! I can't wait to see some pics! You should start a journal for your tank, I'm sure a lot of people would love to read about it, and people leave feedback if you ask them to.

Thanks for the support!, i still need numbers on the gouramis and paradise though,
and some thoughts on the other things. here are some update thoughts

6 female bettas

going to have 5 three spots when tank is set up, and see if they go down in numbers

same with paradise, but it'll be six

as well as dojos ( 3 )

I will design the aquarium when i get it, right now im focusing on fish and plant types,

Im thinking to add java fern?

more anacharis

and thats my thoughts *updated*

java fern is an awesome plant once it gets about 50 leaves, and covering a full piece of drift wood, man, it looks awesome, good luck with the aquarium, i want to see pics of it! :)

you sure will see pics. my 10 gallon is already filled with 3 female bettas, 2 paradise fish, and 2 three spot gouramis, and has water sprite, amazon sword, tape grass , anacharis and java moss, the 46 gallon, or tank about 40 gallons will be set up in about.. 4 months or so, around new years. i plan to get some verylarge pieces of driftwood, for java fern plants.. but as for now, 3 female bettas, 2 paradise fish, 2 three spot gouramis are good for my 10. and the only store near me that sells dojo loaches is petco ( dang ) and their remodiling their fish tanks and actually using individual filters for each tank. so in about a month ill buy a 4 inch or so dojo for the 10, by the time i set up the 40+ gallon, he'll be about 5 or 6 inches so. I know all my fish will be fine, as i have set-up natural filtration, and power filtration in all my tanks, so replacing the cardridge brings no recycling. blah im talking alot.

well yeah the large aquarium for labyrinths will be up in a few months ( i make $103 a month for my fish, so 3-4 months, maybe 5.

well. the 5 gallon that was holding the female bettas, and now are in the 10, is because ... im crazy, and because i decided i'd just breed the bettas already because its now or in 7 months, but then they'd be too old. so yeah., you saved me the problem of thinking about a bump post for this thread.

P.S. people, i still am hoping for some numbers on fish, types of plants, and if about a 35 gallon or so tank would work for those fish numbers.

thank you

My only suggestion is the phrase "The biggger the better, within cost and spatial limitations" with a large tank it is easier to achive a balance and easier to hold steady as well as being much more forgiving of minor issues.
The drawbacks to this theory are location of water for changes, you are not going to want to haul 25 gallons for a 25% wc on a 100 gal tank that is in an upstairs bedroom, lol, and weather the floor will support the weight or not, as well as it being expencive to medicate a large tank.

Yeah, the most my floor could handle is about... 55 gallons at most, i once had 2 10s, a 2.5, two 2s, a dresser, and 2 other furniture in one place as well as a TV,
so if i decidate that one wall side to a 40 gallon and stand, i should be fine
