Title: White Spot.
Description: Need your advise on this one.

My Severum has a bad case of white spot and I want to get rid of it, question is, I have a black shark and b-nose catfish in there as well, would it hurt them?

I would pull the b-nose and treat with temp and salt. I haven't heard of sharks being sensative to salt, but you should probably check with the shark gurus about it to be sure.

I believe freshwater sharks are catfish, or so I thought.

The black shark will be fine with the temps and salt (and whitespot meds). No idea with BN though. The only problem with pulling it from the tank is that it is most likely infected so you would need to put it in isolation to make sure it doesn't infect other stuff.

Some are catfish although the black shark is a cyprinid. Same goes for the red tailed, red finned and rainbow sharks (and any others that have that shape), they are cyprinids also.

Bristlenose's don't mind the salt or heat...I've had them in tanks while treating for ich before...

Are BN's skinned or plated CD? A lot of teh warnings about catfish and salt are over stated, though the same can be stated with the takes of salt itself. I have seen a flattened tblsp of household salt help cure a goldfish in a 30 gallon tank of ich. Yet I'd still suggest using non additive salt.
Based on that cichlas I woul;d say any cyprinid shark would be fine with salt as they are scaled.

So is it the skinned ones that have salt issues?

It's not really the salt that worries me about most "Ich" medications/remedies it is the formalin and Malachite Green.
...any fish that lacks scales or plating/armour...this includes many puffers, pictus and Synodontis catfish, spiny eels, etc tend to react negatively to the stuff...
