Title: d-i-y indoor pond
Description: out of a 45 gallon rubbermade tub

yep, i have 45 gallon rubbermade tub i am planning o turning into an indoor pond, but, the sides will expand from water pressure and crack, i have heard putting wood around the sides of it helps it to not break.,so i am taking all suggestions, and links and etc. my goldfish musty leave his 10 gallon as he is almost 7 inches, and has only grown 1 inch in 2 years, he is about 7 yrs old and very healthy from well manged water and etc., ( kinda like keeping a baby goldfish in a bowl for a few years alive but i would never bowl them. ) so i was wonderin if i should make the pond for him, or if i should keep him in his 10 gallon until i can set-up a larger tank for him, or if i should put him in the 40 gallon i intended for my labyrinth fish ( prefer not to ).

Didn't you say in another thread that you had extra 2x4s?

If so use them and make a frame, sinch it all up with screws.

its not that easy, the container tub is not shaped well, its very rounded and its quite difficult

I have one of those in the house. Just don't fill all the way to top and it should work. Mine isn't framed in and it has been up and running for 3 months that way.

maybe..

maybe ill build a small frame on it and put chunks of plywood for the sides..

and im only filling it p 35 gallons or so but i need to takeprecautions as my goldfish is my favorite pet, and it would be a terrible shame to lose him, he survived both my mistreatment when i got him, stuffed him in a 10 gal with another goldie and a koi ( i know better now ) and he survived such a terrible ich infection that every square centimeter had at least 3 ich spots.

well anyway... how should i go about build the frame?
