just got home from shopping and Nici ripped open her strawberry pack and ripped this guy out!!! WTF, this is not natural at all, who knows how they get this big.

Dat nothin'. I picked strawberries for almost 3 months, it depends on the species.

Those are a nice size, but like others have said some species get much bigger and like any other plant the avaliable nutrients play a part in size.
I've seen some close to 6 inches across the widest part, but they didn't have the flavor that the 4 inchers had and were mostly used as filler with a 50-50 ratio.

There is a variety with the common name sequoia over here that gets rather large like its name sake.
