Sounds like a fair shake to me, how big is his tank and who lives with him?

120gal, a gt, two oscars, convict, kenyi cichlid (female), two pacus (leaving soon) and a plec

He's a nice looking fish. :) And a good price too at that size.

You should make it an all African Cichlid community. It would make them much more happier. Africans prefer a higher pH...new worlds (oscars and convict) need a neuteral to a slightly acidic pH.

I had one of those that was getting nice size, until I got another fish to put in the tank and he died.

Mine always was a happy guy and like to school the tank. Which I thought was great considering his size. I named mine george....He ate just about anything. Mostly flake and pellets. When I had mine I didn't know forsure what he was. I recently figure it out so I could get some more of them. I now have three of them. Would you believe I got them at walmart (hate getting fish there). But, couldn't refuse when I seen them. Had them for about a month now and all are doing well.

Nimbochromis Venustus are awesome. They are Lake Malawi Haplochromines. They are open water Predators so don't put small fish in the tank or they will be dinner. Venustus are Skittish at times and can be very aggressive. The fact that you paid $15 is great. I have an 8" male in Stock and I won't let him go for less than $35.

edit by glaive: I am a retard and completely misread this post, my appologies to N-E CICHLIDS.
