Title: Lighting help

julesuk2 - September 15, 2006 08:02 PM (GMT)
Is it ok to leave the light in my tropical tank on 24/7? I haven't been but I'd like to move it but it would mean I couldn't turn the light off at night.
Thank you for any advice

Welcome to TFF!

Leaving your light really isn't the best thing to do. Your fish really enjoy a period of no light so they can "sleep". And it could cause annoying algae blooms. Use them plug in timers that turn the lights on and off for yah. =D

I wouldnt recommend leaving the light on. They need some time off. They too also need sleep just as all animals do. It helps their growing process as well. I agree... try using a timer to turn the light automatically off.
