Title: petition for life
Description: help save a police canine

doveswing - September 28, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
this dog worked in the world trade centers with his partner. His partner has retired due to ptsd and now the force that they worked for in canada is trying to force the officer to put his k9 partner down. This link is to a petition to save him that you can sign electronically.

i personally am a cat person, but euthinizing a perfectly healthy animal is just cruel. If Steve Irwin was killed because somebody thought his show was useless now, would you think that would be right?

thats what i said..

i did it too, :D

Well said Dot~~~
I believe that the K-9 officer should be allowed to live out his life with his handeler, it is prooven medical fact that animals help people with PTSD as well as other psyciatric issues. The dog could be a key component it his handeler's recovery and can be an ongoing companion.

Well said Dove~~~
The idea of euthanizing a dog that has served on a police force in any other service position ist absolutely stupid. He should be allowed to retire and live a happy life, not be killed. What is being proposed by those who are trying to have him euthanized is CRUEL and INHUMANE and should be outlawed everywhere. All trakr ever did while working was help don't you think he should be able to recieve the love and affection that he has earned by serving so loyally.

Well said F.F.
Maybe we should start "putting down" humans that have retired is we have such a disregard for life and service?

i personally think its a hoax to gather details, its ridiculous to think they'd bump off a work dog when its times done...plus this isn't the only one like that I've seen. so no signage from me, no one kills a dog just cause its task is done...other wise i'd have been shot when i turned 20.
