Im not familar with that brand but wattage wise that seems to be doable. The price on it seemed a bit steep though.
I use a coralife Quad 4 94 watt light fixture on my ten gallon until I broke down that tank a couple of weeks ago. This is an excellent light and it would give you 16 more watts per a gallon which is a 20% increase in wattage and adds some intensity. I have successfully kept SPS corals and T. Maxima/T. Crocea clams under these and they not only survived but actually grew! I didnt start experiencing browning out of SPS corals either. Of course when it comes to SPS and Maximas/Croceas this is the minimum wattage I would recommend and its barely doable in my opinion
http://www.hellolights.com/201xcoaqpcho.htmlThis is a much cheaper option and I have used this company almost exclusively for my lighting needs including componet parts as well as completed fixtures, so they are a very reputable on-line source.
An even better option if you want to move up to a 15 gallon or 20 gallon tank...is
http://www.hellolights.com/24aqpr1x15hq.htmlThis is the cats meow on a nano reef! The possibilities are limited only by the space in your tank!
Having done several Nanos this is the tank size I would say is optimal and probably the most versital size for a small Nano. Just some food for thought...

Well, it was $200 CDN, equal to about $140 American.
Iwas goin to buy the first one you mentioned, but:
1- Doesnt ship to Canada. Which means I'd have to have someone relay it.
2. With shipping its more expensive than the one I mentioned.
3. The one I mentioned if free to ship:)
Would there be any real difference? Im just lookin for something to grow maybe LPS, and softies.

For most LPS and just about any softy, your fixture would work nicely.

Try looking for a coralife fixture such as this one the smallest they make is 24 inches but if your not that picky 2 inches on either side wont hurt any thing plus its 70 dollars chieper but i don't know if they ship to canada.

They don't but I have a friend across the boarder. Whats the difference between this one and the one I had? And what do they charge for shipping?

It's seven dollars for shipping aprooximentally. the difference is its 70 dollars cheaper and 50 watts bigger and 4 inches longer if you get the dual strip light.

I think the reason he is going with the 20 inch version is becuase he is going to start with a 10 gallon and if things go well (doesnt turn into the dreaded "Death Tank" you know the tank where no matter how hard you try it always kills stuff...) then upgrage to a 30 Reef shortly ther after once he has the hang of things and gets in a comfort zone with SW and turn the spare 10 gallon into a sump.
In that case max wattage aint all that much of an issue as long as he can do some softies and prehaps a LPS or two. That actually is a good idea cuase when he is ready to make the up grade he will have about 20 lbs of live sand to innoculate the additional dry sand in the 30 as well as some cured live rock to soften the blow of getting 30-40 lbs all at once if ones on a budget...and most of us are these days unfortunately. The 2 x 40 watt will still be usable as a sump light and he can get a choice light for the 30.
Of course I am speculating on this given past threads and info...I could be wrong though...

Nope, you've got the right idea Ritz. If all goes well, somewhere down the line (a few months) I might turn the 10g into a sump/fuge, with skimmer, for the 30g.

SaltFreak, the light I showed you was in Canadian dollars. The one you showed would actually end up costing more money.
