Title: Tropheus dubois

tropicalfish - October 7, 2006 02:14 AM (GMT)
My brother-in-law got three spotted fish from a fish auction. I found out after some research that they were tropheus dubois (sp.) However, I did a google search and wound up with three different temperatures that they prefer. Also I looked and some said they should be in a tank by themselves cause of their diet and then there was also some said that they could be in a tank with other tang cichlids. I am unsure of which is the truth in this can someone please advise me on which way to go with these little guys.

I would aim for a temperature of about 75F and I would consider doing a species only tank as their diet should be largely vegetarian. You may consider getting more if you can depending of course on your tank size. They benefit from raw vegetables on a regular basis. Zucchini, romaine lettuce maybe cucumber and don't bother blanching it for this species, just clean it well.
