Gosh, D, thats a lot of endler's. and that whole colony in just a few months, starting from.. like 12 of course, though.

That is from 5 pair, I estimate about 70-90 fish in that tank. The other 10 is from 1 mature male, 2 jouvie females and 1 mature female, it's up to about 25-30 assorted sized fish.

thats it, im setting up my empty ten gallons. and adding fish to my planted 10. All for the sake of an Endler colony.

one of the larger ones did it, so. now i got about 6or so fry swimming around. Not very much, but it's something.

Given some time and soon it will look like this, there are over 300 in this tank

I really think that endlers breed worse than guppies. I sell and give away at least 100 fry each month and I am starting to put some of the overflow into a 29 gal.. Once they start breeding it seems that they all start at once. I always have several females dropping at once. What is fun though is when you start getting into fixed strains as you don't want to mix them with the others as you will end up loosing the trait. I have some pairs of the top yellow sword that I keep in seperate containers, with sponge filters and lots of naja grass. fry is put into seperate growout tanks. Lots of work but can be fun if you let it.
