sorry its a bit blurry I had to use the flash to get the shot.Anyways you can tell what everything is in the picture. You woulden't think you would see these fish together without them killing each other.

that knife in the front has all chewed up fins! is he okay now?

Oddball - May 2, 2005 02:59 PM (GMT)
It the undulation of the anal fin, its not damaged at all, as it ripples it creates a wavy effect, in this pic it looks as though its damaged all though it is in reality fine ;)

Punkypuffer - May 2, 2005 03:03 PM (GMT)

Great knives! ive kept many knives before currentley i have a BGK but ive never tried Elephant nose are they as hard to keep as ive heard?

Oddball - May 4, 2005 11:26 AM (GMT)
So long as the water has very low (say 10ppm or less) nitrate levels, and a meaty based food a momyrid should flourish. They are shy and retiring, and as such they shoulcnt be kept with boisterous fish however, and they do benefit from a sandy substrate

There is a elephant knife, african black knife, gold snoflake pleco, tire track eel, elephant nose mormid, needle nose gar. They all get along fine as you can see.As for ph balence and things like that you just have to find a average of happy medium for them.Plenty of houses 125 gal.

The elephant nose are actually a little bit harder they are picky eaters. The one I have the day I brought it home and fed it,ate out of my hand. They are not agressive at all so if you have really agressive fish I woulden't recommend getting one.Plus they are kind of spendy$.All in all I like him
