Additional Info.: Water Sprite is an extremely hardy plant that will survive in most any circumstance, but won't necessarily grow under some parameters. Free floating the plant and have water parameters of about, 78°F, nuetral PH, and adequate of other parameters such as KH, nitrite,nitrate, GH and ammonia will lead to growth of this plant. If along with these parameters you have added fertilizers, or C02, this plant will grow at a rate of about 10% of the total plant, each day. This plant makes a great refuge for fry and offers them many small organism to eat. This plant is also a very popular plant to use when breeding labyrinth fish, and because of it's excessive growth rate, makes an excellent food source for goldfish as they literally love it.
This photo was taken without permission from my brother and shows how excessively this plant grows. This water sprite is but 3 months old and started from a single handful. The water sprite is obviously the plant that is taking up the top of the aquarium. Sorry about the quality, blame my brother, it's his photo.
