Title: lighting

Ok, I know I should know this, but can't remember. How many watts per gal will I need for low light plants. I have got my tank set up and with the hood on it, I can add more lights to it. So, thought about doing some plants. I have tried plants before with not much success.

So, if anyone can refresh me on the basics for low light plants. I will not do any co2 unless I buy something. I made one in the past and it worked about half of the time. I just want a few plants that are easy to care for.

.5-1.5 watts per gallon for low lights...of course depending on the type of plants. :)

shodow is right, 5-1.5 WPG for most Low ligt plants, but, plants like jave moss, will grow w/o any type of lighting, or. any specoal lighting i found out, but, yeah, plants are easy to care for if you fert the gravel/sand, i use seachem plant tabs, and, for non-rooted plants, i use the liquid verstion as well, it seem to work the best as of rght, now, i an starting to try this 'new' product that has 15-12-17 i think, and, it's cheaper than seachem, so, all for the better, but, for the most part to keep the plants alive, just use some type or fert that has more than 1-1-1 and dosn't meke you use them every week or some thing stupid like that.

hoped this helped.
