Well paradise fish are very aggressive and fast so w/ speed they could escape but with their temper they might aggravate them into attacking. Personally, I love my paradise fish and i wouldn't dare keep them with something that can fit them in their mouths. Anything bigger than six inches ( with the exception of a kissing gourami and select few other fish ) is IMO too big for the paradise fish.

If your clown knife is "mean as hell " I wouldn't try it.

I know very little about either species but I do know that a mean fish will do as he pleases, to whomever he pleases till he runs into somthing bigger and meaner.

My uncle's paradise fish lives in a 75 gallon with an 8 inch texas, a dempsey, and firemouths and it owns and controls the entire tank...it's possible.

But I wouldn't try it with a clown knife. It could live with the eel...but not the knife.

p.s from what your signature says your tank is doomed to be overstocked. Clown knives can grow HUGE and need large tanks and are recommended to be kept alone. The goldfish will cause ammonia and nitrate problems in you don't do frequent water changes since they're very dirty fish. Just giving a heads up :)...you'll need to buy a much larger tank if you want to keep the fish you have.

And, seeing as it says "plain" old goldfish in your sig. I'd say they're common goldfish. COmmon's, unlike fancys, need 20 gallons for the first goldfish and another 10 gallons for each after it. Seeing as I'm a child I plan on breaking the rule slightly: "20 gallons for first, 10 for the 2nd and third, 5 for next three. I wouldn't go above 6 goldies anyway...

Goldfish are way too misunderstood, unlike many other fish, if a goldy is small it does need the same space as a full grown one.
