Title: Guppy-Sick or injured?
Description: Guppy with series of problems

cyndit - January 11, 2007 07:07 PM (GMT)
My male guppy has been having a rough month, and I think, but am not certain that someone is attacking him. A couple of weeks ago his fins were all shreddy in the morning, and I don't think it was fin rot because it was sudden and he seemed to be healing fine on his own without medication. Then suddenly he seems sporadically disoriented, sometimes swimming fairly normally (although listing slightly- I thought because of uneven fin healing)) and spiralling out of control at others. He is still eating and all other fish appear fine (good size angel-who I've never SEEN bother him, one female guppy and two rosy barbs). We had some water issues (high PH) and lost a pair of leopard corys about a month ago, but the water is fine now, I just tested it, although the alkalinity(?) not Ph is a little low. Does anyone know of a disease that could cause these symptoms, or has he been injured? we haven't introduced any new fish, so I'm very confused. If anyone can help, I'd be most grateful.

It sounds like it could be swim bladder related, can you isolate him in a little breeder net.

Thanks anyway guys-
I think this guppy actually had a broken back from Angel's attack- We lost him yesterday. She's in her new tank now (55g), exploring and seeming very happy. The rest of her ex-tankmates seem relieved. thanks for all your help guys-
