Hi how ya'll doing. I've just started setting up tanks again a few months ago. I have 6 tanks and enough to set up three more, but they were all just piled in a closet. i have the bad habit of buying discounted tanks and keeping them whether i need them or not.

i have nowhere to set up my larger tanks just yet but i put my 18 gallon tall together and aquascaped it beautifully with decorations that used to be in three or four different tanks and put some zebra danios to cycle it, and then pretty much forgot about it for 3 months, I finally got determined to add more fish the other day and decided on some gouramis...not sure what kind they are but they are a dwarf species with black and white splotches....(opalesints (sp?) maybe)they are doing well together with the danios and I think im just gonna add more of each species at a later date, I like it when fish school
my good fortune was when i went to petco and someone had brought in a convict cichlid that was killing all its tank mates back to the store, so petco was adopting him out, he looked rather pittiful, all of his strips were faded to near white and the parrot cichlid they had in there with him were shuddering in a corner. they agreed to hold him for me for 3 days so i could set up a new tank for him, thank goodness for used filter substrate.
I put him in the 10 gallon tank that I'm sure he will outgrow before two long last night, heis already swimming around and his strips are coming back.
ive been calling it a him but i havnt gotten around to sexing him yet.
i work as a waitress in a small town and have a number of hobbies. I have hermit crabs, read, have lots of plants and play video games in my spare time.
for now my tanks include
1 10 gallon with an agrevated convict ,1 day
1 18 gallon with 3 gouramis and 3 zebra danios, 3 or 4 months
and 1 10 gallon with 5 hermit crabs ive had for 2 years
hope to see yall around, wish me luck with the convict, even though ive kept tropical fish for years this is my first cichlid
