How are you trying to upload them?
I use Photobucket and just cut & paste the code it gives me.

That image size is perfectly fine, you should be able add individual images with the "add files" field, near the bottom of the message window, by hitting the "browse" button and then picking the image.

For more than one image in a message photobucket would be needed.
