Well for the guys who didnt know, Australia is in a drought, where I live in melbourne, its the worse.
We are now on stage 3 witch means you can only water your plants on two days per week, and thats it for outside, no washing the car, no watering your lawn or nothing.
Some towns have no water at all and I really feel for them.
But, mind you australia has been in a drought for the part 10 years or so, and just now they are starting to put in all these rules like a water smart washing machine, tap heads in the shower etc etc, why not do this 3 years ago???
And get this right, if you install a rain water tank you get like $500 back from the goverment, but then they jack your water rates up!!!!! Whats the point??
I live in California and come from a farming family so I'm no stranger to what you guys are going through. Our last bad one only ended less than 10 yrs ago and I remember spray painting my lawn green 3 yrs before that.Looks like we are headed for another one, what with little rainfall this year and our snowpack melting to soon.
Hope somebody devises a way to keep aquariums without water changes.
Familliar with draughts in NM too, we would drive the car to the river with 5 gal buckets and sponges to wash it.
Stage 4 starts beginning of March unless we get some major rain. Our government needs some education of water conservation and how to enforce it. How rediculous to wait til our reservoirs are at 30%
