Hello, i have a lonely texas cichlid (carpinte) in a 'L' shaped tank, with 3 and a half foot and three foot along the back two edges, and holds about 75 gallons, plus the sump underneath. The texas is around the 5 inch mark. There was some dithers in there before some rainbows and smallish barbs) but they had to be removed because he was hammering them! I was wondering if any one had any suggestions for some company for him? It would be nice to add some other form of cichlid, but anything that can withstand him would be ok! I was considering a pair of cons or something like that but was unsure if they would be too much for him!?
Thanks very much for any suggestions!
Liam.
you could try a couple of cons ( i would shoot for the same sex) so as to avoid breeding. in my opinion you would have alot of aggression in that tank with the texas and a pair of breeding cons. as far as target fish you could try some silver dollars or giant danios. i have had success with both. how wide is the tank, 18"?
