Title: Does this stuff work?

Stresszyme by API or Cycle by Hagen Corp. They are supposed to add bacteria to aid in cycling and maintenance.I really don't trust advice from the LFS,because if they don't sell it,they don't make money.Customer reveiws are mixed at about 65% in favor.I would really like the opinions of people I trust before I spend the money.

i confess i used when i got my first tank and i gave it a week then added a couple of guppies and it did no harm but for safety measures i left them in for a further 2 weeks before i added any more fish hope that helps :woo:

Only bio-spira is proven.

OK,Thanx Glaive. Now I just have to track it down locally.

Well,I added the bio-spira wendsday afternoon and the results are already noticeable.Great stuff. But,yes there is a but, during my checking into the facts about bio-spira,I came across the problems caused by Amquel.Which,of course,I use. What concerns me most is how it can cause false readings in some types of ammonia test kits. Now if my test kit is accurate, then all my fish should be dead. The kit is by API,the reading was 8.0 ppm.Since all fish are perfectly happy, and alive, the reading is most likly wrong.
Since this problem only affects some kits,I was wondering if anybody knows what kit would give me an accurate reading.

Your fish shall be your best indicator, should they continue to do well then all should be right. Bio-spira is supposed to be an instant cycle so it is possible you would never notice ammonia.

I've never had any issues with either Prime or Amquel for a water conditioner. I can not say the same about Ammo-lock, and I do not recommend it.

Amquel supposedly neutralizes ammonia, but does it the same way Ammo-Lock does.
