After my 10 gallon turned into Jones Town(tasteless ref.)I got rid of the large gravel substrata and put in this nice cory friendly sand bottom.

Only has two cories and an older female betta for now.In a week I'll get a couple of albino cories and it'll be done. I'm seriously thinking of redoing my 30 gall XT with the same sand. It's just barely large enough that I can use a mini-gravel vac.

looks good dude, that cory looks like he's happy with it as well.:D

Love the dark bottom! It really makes the plant's colors stand out!

Yeah, albino cory cats will look real good against that sand.I want to redo Pearl's tank with this stuff(journals forum)but with my right arm immobilized I'll have to locate a new victim,er,volunteer to be my hands.Apparently I'm a bit of an asshole as a supervisor. :pft: Go figure. There is a live plant in there, just not in the picture.

It makes the fake plants look good, and I normally don't care for fake plants.

If it was a kid you were supervising don't feel bad, mine thought I was a total bitch as a superviser!

All the fake plants in that tank are silk,so they look a lot better than normal plastic.I try to use silk plants whenever possible. They have far fewer rough edges, look a lot better, and nitrafiying bacteria set up colonies in the material, thus improving my bio-filter.I prefer a mixture of these with real plants. The real plants do a great job of using up the nitrates.
