Title: Soft Water Pros & Cons
Description: Using soft water for water changes

Need your help. Was wondering about pro/con of using soft water for water changes in my new 4 1/2g at work. I've got 1 Betta in it but am planning on adding a few ghost shrimp later. Seems OK to me, it's just filtered water with a touch of salt. But what do I know!?! Opinions?

Only one water change w/soft so far but he seems to be having the time of his life. I suppose it's the 4 1/2g. Probably the biggest place he's ever seen! :omg: I work in a school so most of the fun will be in letting the kids here name him. Should be interesting.

cool, my mom is a teacher with the hearing impaired (mostly pre school and kindergarten age) i have been trying to get a tank set up in her classroom for awhile but the school doesn't seem very cooperative about it.

Tell her to ask her union rep bud, that always seems to shake up the crusties. ;)

Brads, considering the type of water Bettas come from yours should love the softened stuff. I might skip out on the extra salt though as softened water replaces calcium and magnesium with sodium.
