need a little help mate, what the heck could this guy be? this is not my fish, trying to help out a friend on another forum.

Initial thought is its some type of gudgeon, like a mogrunda mogrunda, could we get a clearer shot and a rough size of it?

It looks like a member of the Mogurnda family, it could be M. mogurnda, M adspersa, M. clivicola, or some other genus entirely. No matter which it is, it will get to about 6" and eat anything that can fit in its mouth :)

the info i got from the poster was that the fish is 8" TL. don't know if we could get a better pic, sorry.
