Title: Kribensis Breeding
Description: What should I do with the male?

Hey guys. I'm the proud owner of about 20 baby Kribensis. :dummy:

The male and female took awhile to get used to each other and I thought they were fighting all the time but I guess I was wrong.

I'm wondering if I should take the male out now because she just seems to boss him around and he has no colour and is just cowering in a corner of the tank.

Any recommendations?

sorry bud i am in no way experienced with these guys but here is what i have read about them. the tank would do well with some target fish for the parents to take their aggression out on. if that's not an option just keep a close eye on them. if you notice one parent chasing the other away from the brood then you may want to move that fish to another tank. i guess it is sometimes common with kribs that one parent will want to take on all the parental duties.

Yeah. I'd take him out but I can't catch the little bastard. I'm worried about hurting the babies when I'm swinging the net around trying to catch him.

i would only try and remove him if the female was chasing him away all the time. if they both are taking care of the fry then i would leave them alone. if you have to net him just do the best you can, the fry should be able to get out of the way.

Well, the female isn't really chasing him away... he just doesn't go near her. He stays in a corner of the tank all the time.

i would try and net him then. sounds like he would be happier in another tank.
