Well, it sounds like the computer gets packed sometime tomorrow so I don't know when I'll get a chance to get back on. We will be on the road by Tues or Wed and I don't know how long we are going to take to get down south.

It looks like we are going to stay in town till after the Easter weekend, Hubby doesn't want to be on the road when it's going to be that busy so we will be parking at my mom's probably tomorrow or Wed, the LL gave us a couple more days to finish up.

makes sense not to get caught in the holiday traffic.:)

Ever heard of T or C NM? It's a wide spot in the road half way between Las Cruces and Albuquerque, 5 miles from Elephant Butte Lake.

If we go spinning out of control we are dead, spinning with a 24 ft RV pulling an Intrepid.....not a good scenario, but it's not going to happen because hubby is a good driver.

but yeah, hope you get down there safely, and i agree, i doubt a 24' RV would go spinning no matter how much water was on the road.... :whistle: well, hope you like it down there.

I pass on my mantra, "Drive to arrive." If it gets ugly you slow down or just stop. Just don't let hubby drive too long a stretch at one time.

We love it down there, that's why we are going back. Where in NM are your family?

We fully agree, and it's going to be nice being able to pull over and sleep ... in a bed instead of the front seat! We still don't know how long we are going to take for the drive, Hubby has done it in 20 hours but we are NOT going to do it that quickly this time (that was an emergency trip, my dad was about to pass on and I hadn't seen him in 3 years, it gave me 3 days with dad and was worth it).

Learned that we can't tow the car without trashing the tranny so we sold it......and made $175 over what we paid for it :woo: .
Will probably be leaving Sun or Mon. jay

Just a quick update, the RV is finally running properly, been stuck in Auburn Nebraska since last Wed. Wind and rain have controaled all but one day that we have been here. I'll rant later :laugh: .
We plan on getting on the road tomorrow, met some cool people and got some mechanic work out of the deal.

Well, we made it to Kingman Kansas, we will probably be here till Monday, waiting on a check to come so we can continue on our way.
I'm taking lots of pics and will upload them when we get to NM.

it was 3 days we left nm on the 12th got there on the 15th and grandpa died on the 18th

Hey guys, we made it!
Got here on Tuesday afternoon but haven't had a chance to get to the computer lab before now to let you know.
It looks like we got between 4.5 and 7.5 mpg on the trip here, so that really sucked! :wtf: It cost us about $900.00 in gas and maybe $20.00 in groceries and ice. :laugh:
