Title: Big Problem
Description: Tank is going down hill....

OK... lets see where do i start... i know i haven't posted in a while but that was only b/c i thought things were going well in my tanks, but apparently i was wrong... I have now lost 4 fish, my gravel has turned brown and algae is begging to take over the back wall of the tank.... It also has a smell which is better now that i got rid of the floating plants i had but it still makes my room smell... the fish i believe to have died from dropsy, only one has shown the pine cone effect but i am afraid that i will lose the rest of my fish! Please if you have any advice please let me know... i have currently replace the gravel leaving the original water in the tank, i have treated it for dropsy and for algae control.. is that good enough? any help would be awesome!

Well i made the mistake of thinking everything was OK and haven't checked it in a while... and i do a water change like every 2 weeks.... but i have lost 4 more fish, so i fear that it may be too late....

From the description I would guess your nitrates are much too high. Though it may have mini cycled on you as well, definitely need more info in order to help.
